Fundraising

The Ladue FGC Association helps our school purchase technology, fund field trips, show our teachers our (deep!) appreciation, fund teacher grants and provide community-building events for our students and families.

 

Although plans may be different this year, fifth graders typically take a field trip to the St Louis Science Center, gather for fall and spring after-school student socials (like ice skating or a movie night) and celebrate the end of the school year with an outdoor field day.

 

There are two main ways we fund our grants and activities:

 

1. "One Check" Donation

“One Check” donation is a simple method for annual voluntary dues collection. Rather than supporting sales drives and fundraisers multiple times throughout the year, we invite you make one donation ("one check", although we encourage online giving!) to support our mission. 

 

You can make a voluntary "One Check" dues donation at any time during the school year. However, if it is possible for your family, we request that you make your donation by September 15th. This allows us to set our budget and plans, knowing approximately how much money we will have to work with for our fifth graders this year. 

 

2. FGC Holiday Teacher/Staff Gift Fund
Because students rotate among their team and specials teachers, teacher gifts are handled differently at the FGC than at the elementary schools.

 

In November, we will request donations for the FGC Teacher Gift Fund. Families make a one-time, voluntary donation.  The LFGCA collects the donation and then divides the total amount collected among your student's team teachers, FGC specialists and support staff. Each teacher/staff member will receive a gift in December. Families may give any amount as a Holiday Teachers/Staff Gift Fund contribution - no contribution is too large or too small!

 

 "One Check"  is entirely separate from “Holiday Teachers/Staff Gift Fund” donation. “One Check" donations will not be used to purchase teacher gifts. 

 

Additional Fundraisers

 

Scholastic Book Fair, School Supply Sale, and periodic Dine-Out events are scheduled throughout the year. Participation in these events in completely voluntary and greatly appreciated.

 

Funds for the Fifth Auction. If district policies allow, the FGC traditionally also hosts a fundraiser where sign-up parties and experiences are offered for our students. The sign-up events are planned and sponsored by parents, teachers, and organizations like the fire department, mayor's office and the district.   

 

Dragon Den School Store. When there are no restrictions for parents/guardians volunteer inside the building, the Dragon Den sells spirit wear, school supplies, and small gift / novelty items during student lunch hours on Fridays and at school events. A percentage of your spirit wear and/or Dragon Den purchase supports the LFGCA.
